European Award for ATRIUM

2 October (Sibiu, Romania)

On 2 October 2019, during the 9th Cultral Routes Advisory Forum in Sibiu/Romanis, ATRIUM has been awarded by the Enlarged Partial Agreement on Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe as Best Practices 2018 in Cultural Tourism and Sustainable Developement for the results achived thanks to the ATRIUM Plus project under the Interreg V-A Italy-Croatia CBC Programme. A satisfaction to be certainly shared with all actors involved in the project!

ATRIUM is part of the Routes4U "Trip Planner"

October 2019

The “Trip planner” was developed in the framework of Routes4U and launched in July 2019 featuring points of interest related to the Cultural Routes in the four EU macro-regions (Adriatic and Ionian, Alpine, Baltic Sea and Danube Region). ATRIUM is part of the digital platform.

European Heritage Days in Tirana

21-22 September 2019 (Tirana, Albania)

“Walking through heritage, towards the future” was the title of the guided tour for high school students in the city center of Tirana. The event was organised in occasion of the European Heritage Days with the aim to focus on the history and promote the values of democracy and freedom.

Along the itinerary, historical facts were contextualized by the use of images.

European Heritage Days Meran

18-22 September 2019 (Meran, Italy)

On the occasion of the European Heritage Days, the Municipality of Merano oragnised a 3-days event entitled "Alla scoperta di esempi di architettura razionalista a Merano" ("At the discovery of examples of rationalist architecture in Meran"):

• Wednesday 18 September: Conference “Urban planning and modern architecture in Europe and South Tyrol"
• Saturday 21 September: Guided tour by architects Alexander Zoeggleler and Carlo Azzolini "Tra l'architettura razionalista a Maia Bassa con gli architetti Alexander Zoeggeler e Carlo Azzolini
• Sunday 22 September: Guided tours of the town hall, the former Casa Littoria and the Ippodromo

European Heritage Days in Ştei

20 September 2019 (Stei, Romania)

On 20 September, in occasion of the European Heritage Days 2019, 6th and 7th grade students of the Ştei highschool were invited to a debate regarding the development strategy of the town of Ştei and the importance of the role of the ATRIUM Cultural Route.

Architects and consultants presented the ongoing projects, while Professor Ramona Novicov, from the University of Oradea, held a presentation of the totalitarian architectural heritage of Ştei, explaining the significance of the role of the ATRIUM Cultural Route in the future development of the town.

The county television was invited for the occasion.

Atrium on Teleromagna

July 2019

On 19 July 2019, the tv programme Focus of the regional channel Teleromagna published a reportage on the ATRIUM Cultural Route. Claudia Castellucci (Director) and Patrick Leech (President) tell the story, present and future perspectives of the European cultural route.
