Heritage and Authoritarianism - Call for Papers

February 2018

The Cambridge Heritage Research Group hosts the 19th Annual Cambridge Heritage Research Symposium, which will be hold on 11-12 May 2018.

From European dictatorships of the 20th century to military regimes all over the world, this research seminar will seek to comparatively explore the relationship between cultural heritage and authoritarianism.

ATRIUM PLUS Project approved

January 2018

The ATRIUM Plus project funded by the European Cross-Border Cooperation Programme "Italy-Croatia" has formally started on 1st January 2018. Lead partner is the Municipality of Forlì (I). Other partners are the cities of Bari and Ferrara (I) and Labin (HR), as well as the University of Zadar (HR). As three of the partners are members of the ATRIUM Cultural Route, the Route as such will be fully involved in the implementation of the project activities.

ATRIUM Plus objectives are really simple and concrete:

- create an ATRIUM cultural-tourist product addressed to schools by involving students themselves in its tuning
- perform training sessions primarily addressed to tourist guides on the ATRIUM themes and its difficult storytelling
- set up and produce ad-hoc ATRIUM signposting for the Route sites and buildings

Smart Heritage Project approved

January 2018

The Smart Hertitage Project has been approved and funded by the “Adriatic-Ionian Programme Interreg V B Transnational 2014-2020” (Interreg Adrion Programme).

Lead Partner of the project is the Croatian County for local Development together with the National Museum of Zara (HR), while the partnership is composed by various institutions, among which the Municipality of Forlì, involving the ATRIUM Cultural Route.

The Project aims to improve the enhancement of cultural heritage, moving along two main development directions: the use of technology applied to culture and the creation of Cultural Routes as tools for a wise management of cultural heritage.

An example of a FARO Heritage Community

January 2018

Local residents get active to save the Foro Boario, Forlì's historic cattle market built during the Fascist regime. Forlì is one of the FARO Heritage Communities, promoting the active participation of citizens in the process of valorising its cultural heritage.

Torviscosa's built heritage under protection

December 2017

Torviscosa is going to be the first town built during the Fascist period to be protected by the Italian authorities (for the protection of cultural heritage).

ATRIUM on Radio 3

Elisa Giovannetti, President of the ATRIUM cultural route, participates in a transmission of Radio 3 "Tutta la città ne parla". She explains how walls, archives and memories represent the dissonant heritage ATRIUM deals with, and how important it is to raise awareness about the our 20th century history and its tragedies.
