University of Cagliari and the ATRIUM member City of Carbonia
Starting from «The Carbonia project: the landscape machine” awarded in 2011, the second session of the Landscape Award aimed at regenerating the 20th century modernist, urban and mining landscape in a sustainable development perspective. During the academic year 2020-21, the University of Cagliari, in agreement with the City of Carbonia (member of the ATRIUM Route), realized the first year of a “Master's degree on landscape, according the principles of the European Landscape Convention.
The Master trains students on landscape architecture under a perspective of sustainable territorial transformation, such as developing an innovative professional profile as provided for by the Convention itself. In line with the Convention, the citizens’ awareness of the value of natural and urban landscape has an important role to play. Moreover, it is believed that a sunstainable transformation of landscape needs professional and multidisciplinary skills and programmes. This Master facilitates the sharing of cultural approaches with other similiar training programmes such as the Master in Architecture of Landscape of UP of Barcelona (Spain) and Federico II University of Neaples (Italy).
