On 16 November 2024, the results of the project “Fuga dal campo” (Escaping the camp) are presented. The project is financed by the Consiglio regionale FVG, the Comitato FVG delle Pro Loco UNPLI and is organised in collaboration with the ATRIUM European Cultural Route and the Association Campo. Main result is a book written in Italian language, that summarizes the story of the compo PG 107 at Torviscosa, but also tells personal stories connected to the prisoners of the British Empire trying to escape the working camp. The material and information to reconstruct this piece of history has been obtained from diaries of prisoners as well as from documents found in local archives and those in New Zealand.
