Colonie Marine - Ipotesi per la conoscenza e tutela dle patrimonio architettonico moderno
[Seaside holiday camps – Hypothesis for the knowledge and conservation of modern architectural heritage]
Organisers: Municipality of Cesenatico and the ATRIUM Association
Curators: Massimo Bottini
Site: Palazzo del Turismo, Cesenatico, Italy
The exhibition is dedicated to the seaside holiday camps along the Italian coasts and wants to reflect these places, which are often in state of abandonment. The main focus is the AGIP holiday camp in Cesenatico, designed by architect Vaccaro – a pearl of modern architecture. However, the exhibition also deals with the role, that these buildings took on, in terms of Fascist propaganda and as places for the children’s health within a the context of a modern vision of holidays and the cult of the body.
