Kos

After the 1936 earthquake that destroyed a major part of the city of Kos, Rodolfo Petracco planned a new regulatory plan which was based on the idea that the pre-earthquake urban core would be developed as an archaeological "memory" park. The regulatory plan provided for the demolition of buildings, within a radius of 2 km from the Governor's Office, that suffered even the slightest damage from the earthquake and the creation of a different city, with different specifications. On the one hand, the regulation refers to a city much larger in area and clearly more sparsely built, often creating platforms and green spaces to improve the quality of life of the residents.
