From nursery school to cultural hub
Restoration project and future activities
The restoration of the former Santarelli preschool and its new uses is a project co-financed by the European Structural Fund, managed by the Region Emilia-Romagna.
The former Santarelli preschool is supposed to become a cultural hub, integrating three new functions: an innovation lab, a public library and an interpretation centre of Forlì’s open-air museum on the architectural heritage deriving from the Fascist regime. The funds will cover the restoration of the building as well as the realisation of an open innovation lab.
Cultural Heritage and Active Citizenship
A project financed by the Emilia-Romagna Regional Operational Programme and the European Regional Development Fund (Priority 6).
The main objective is the functional restauration of the former Santarelli preschool – a building part of the ATRIUM cultural route - for new public uses. An Open Lab of innovation for the enhancement of the cultural heritage is supposed to reinforce creative and cultural companies, especially regarding the use of new digital technology as well as strategies of internationalisation. The Open Lab further enhances the collaboration of young companies and the cultural reviving of the Santarelli spaces.
Forlì - Città del 900
A project financed by the Emilia-Romagna Regional Operational Programme and the European Regional Development Fund (Priority 5).
This project integrates the project financed by Priority 6, enhancing the development of the former Santarelli preschool building into a cultural hub and an interpretation centre of Forlì’s open-air museum focusing on the architectural heritage deriving from the Fascist regime. The aim of the functional restoration of the former preschool is to transform the Santarelli building complex into the cornerstone of a system for an urban narration and the cultural-touristic enhancement of Forlì’s distinctive cultural heritage – the architecture and memory of the 20th century, which is part of the ATRIUM cultural route. It is thus the basis for the development of a touristic product connected to the ATRIUM heritage in the Forlì district.
